One of our artist friends is Judy, who also volunteers as an animal caregiver.  This is a national registry of people who are willing to nurse injured or orphaned animals.  Her project at the time of this picture was Francis, a baby grey kangaroo who was orphaned when her mother was run over by a car.  Judy carried Francis around in a cloth pouch everywhere she went.  She also cares for many other animals with problems.  Her little ranch is like a zoo, except all the animals are running free.  It has been so interesting to know people who have such an intimate relationship with these exotic (to us) animals.
