Cormorants are found all over the world.  They're the ones that the Japanese tie lines around their necks (so they can't swallow) and they dive and catch fish and bring them back to the boat.  They are wonderfully swift flyers but are most impressive underwater where they look like an arrow with huge feet and are amazingly fast and maneuverable.  We've seen them in marinas zipping around underwater chasing fish.  These cormorants roost by the hundreds every night in the mangroves at our beach where we live.  We can see flocks of them at sunset every night flying in.  These are just taking off in the morning.
