This is a Pretty-faced Wallaby.  Wallabies are just smaller kangaroos as far as I can tell.  They come in all sizes.  This one is about 4' tall.  He was living in Undara National Park.  There were a lot of them around the park headquarters because the surrounding area is very dry and there were actually green lawns here.  Still, they live in large numbers in very dry areas.  They are mainly nocturnal because they have no sweat glands and don't like to be out in the direct sun.  Notice the long feet.  The foot starts at what we might think is the knee.  That entire section on the ground has a calloused bottom and it's all considered the foot.
