We didn't even know what a wombat was before we came to Australia.  We had no idea that they are one of the cutest animals on earth.  I suppose it's a matter of taste but we think they're great.  They're often used in TV commercials here because they're just so darned cute.  Patti is holding this one in the Billabong Sanctuary.  They have very powerful claws for burrowing but they are very inoffensive and are supposed to make good pets.  This one weighs about 70 pounds.
