This is a Tongan feast that was literally "fit for a king".  That's a pig at the left and there are more pigs about every 10'.  Tongans and Samoans are the same race, so they are huge and they love to eat.  This was a special occasion.  The King of Tonga had come to visit Vava'u.  We were told that if we dressed up, we might be able to participate.  So I wore a suit for the only time in my cruising life and Patti dressed up, too.  We sat through a long speech which we didn't understand and then drifted along to the dances and this amazing feast.  The King is at another table, so we didn't actually meet him.  We spent two wonderful months in Tonga before leaving on the dreaded 1,200-mile passage to New Zealand, sailing through the most dangerous waters of the year.
