After ten days in the Bay of Islands, where we arrived, we sailed down to Whangarei, a wonderful little city which was our base for the next two-and-a-half years.  Here we have anchored in Urqardt's Bay, near where the Whangarei River empties into the Pacific.  The next morning we motored up the river to Ray Roberts' Marina, our new home.
