We arrived in the Bay of Islands after a rough seven days at sea from New Cal.  After checking in and saying "hi" to our many friends in that area, we took several days for a leisurely sail down the coast to our "home" at Ray Roberts Marina in Whangarei.  We bought a nice little Honda for a great price and drove down several hours south to Tauranga where many of our friends had spent the season working on their boats instead of cruising to the islands.  We had especially missed our best cruising friends, Bill and Debbie on Romance.  After spending so much time together in 1999 when we both crossed the Pacific, they felt they had some serious boat work that needed to be done before they took off again.  We still see them frequently today.
