Musket Cove is just a few miles from the fringing reef around Fiji and the snorkeling and diving are terrific.  Patti and I had always wanted to learn to scuba dive and the resort offered a really good deal since the resort was practically empty.  Isei, on the left, was our instructor.   Our five weeks at Musket Cove were idyllic in a way, hanging out at a world-class resort, snorkeling, diving, and visiting with all our boating friends who were doing the same thing.  But it was such a shame to see the country tearing itself apart over the ethnic differences and it's a story that's playing out all over the Third World.   George Speight, the coup leader, and his friends did go to prison eventually but Fiji just had another coup in 2006.
