So what?  Drawers - big deal.  Let me back up a bit.  After we arrived and got settled in New Zealand at the end of 1999 we went back to the States for our first visit in over a year.  During our year crossing the Pacific, we came up with a long list of improvements for the boat.  We had heard that NZ has the best boatworkers in the world and we decided to test them.  We left them a LONG list of challenging projects.  When we returned, we were THRILLED to see that they had built a BEAUTIFUL set up big drawers for us.  This spot used to have a small table and swing-out seat and they had managed to fit this in there.  At last we had a dresser!  And look at the workmanship - it looks like part of the boat instead of an add-on.  This was just the first of dozens of magnificent jobs by our wonderful Kiwi friends (they almost all became friends).
