The most dramatic moment of the hike came soon after this photo was taken.  We had been slipping and sliding down a very steep path through this lush vegetation when we came to the roaring stream which feeds the waterfall.  You can just see it on the left through the trees.  The water was running really fast and a few feet deep with one big dry rock in the middle.  We didn't see how we could safely get across without taking a chance on being swept down the steep cascade.  Fortunately a big man from the village was hiking up with his family and, since they had lived there their whole lives and waded that stream countless times, he waded in to the center rock and pulled each one of us across.  What a relief!
