This was the decidedly not-too-slick dance show.  But it was great.  Vanuatans have a ceremonial dance for everything, it seems, and he showed us samples of several - and joined in himself.  For example, if a man wants to move up in village hierarchy - and there's a very strict hierarchy among the men - he raises and kills a specified number of pigs and may be required to plant a maintain a certain number of a specific type of tree and then throw a feast for the village and then there are certain dances that must be performed.  There are lots of dances to stimulate the crops.  Anyway, this was a lot of fun and at the end they dragged us (about ten of us) out and we all danced all the way down to another hut where we drank kava and danced some more.  We paid about six dollars apiece.
